How To Get Umbral Scouring In Lords of the Fallen

Reach the Forbidden Archives

To find Umbral Scouring, you must first reach the Forbidden Archives area of the Monastery. This is located behind a locked door requiring the Tower Key found after defeating the Warden.

Once inside the Forbidden Archives, deal with the ambushing Rhogar's Chosen foes. Then make your way downstairs to the lower Archives after clearing out the enemies to gain Lords of the Fallen vigor.

Obtain the Study Cell Key

After reaching the bottom floor of the Forbidden Archives, look for a small room tucked away in the back corner. Inside on a desk is the Study Cell Key item. Grab this key, then backtrack upstairs to the initial Archive entrance. Unlock the metal gate on the right with the Study Cell Key to reach the next area and more opportunities for Lords of the Fallen Vigor.

Defeat the Champions

Entering the Study Cells, you will need to battle three elite Champion enemies. These foes are lethal, so prepare for a challenging fight. Using ranged spells and careful evasion, defeat all three Champions. Once they are down, the path forward will open to find Lords of the Fallen Umbral Scouring.

Claim Umbral Scouring

After defeating the Champion enemies, head to the back of the Study Cells room. Smash the furniture blocking the way to reveal a hidden room. Inside sits the Umbral Scouring spell tome on a desk. Interact with it to permanently learn this powerful offensive magic and finally obtain Lords of the Fallen Umbral Scouring.

Upgrade Umbral Scouring

Once acquired, ensure you upgrade Umbral Scouring at shrine locations to increase its damage output. This requires spending Mystic Shards to maximize Lords of the Fallen vigor gains. Level up Umbral Scouring fully to maximize its ranged piercing and AoE potential against groups. The damage scales exceptionally when fully upgraded.
